Itinerary

STOP 1

Fuel up in one of the most unique cafes in the country. Drive time to the second stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 2

Shop, eat and explore in a quintessential picturesque town. Drive time to the third stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 3

Drive to a local farm to make a new furry friend or cozy up with a cocktail. Drive time to the fourth stop is between 15 - 30 minutes.

STOP 4

The fourth stop is up to you! Choose between a number of local businesses, trails or some fun photo ops.

  • From Cochrane: 2 hours and 45 minutes / 223 km
  • From Airdrie: 3 hours  / 259 km
  • From Red Deer: 5 hours and 15 minutes / 484 km

This trip can be done from Thursday - Sunday, and is best enjoyed in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

We recommend leaving anytime between 10:00 - 10:30 am if you're departing from Calgary.

You can bring your pup on Quirky Gems! The first stop will require you to do takeout, and the interior is very unique, so it's up to you if your pup comes for the day.

The trip includes patio options for when it's warm & takeaway that work well for your pet. There will also be at least one dog-friendly activity at each stop. If you bring your furry friend, you will be unable to bring them into any indoor suggestions.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

None of your stops will require an entrance fee. We do suggest a number of shops and restaurants which are not included in the price of this itinerary.

We purchased this trip because it was listed as accessible, sadly none of the stops were wheelchair accessible.

Quirky and Fun!

It was so fun not having to be the planner for once. The kids loved the adventure, even my moody preteen smiled a time or 2. Definitely not places I would have to known to go to. Took us out of the box and we had a wonderful time. Made new friends and memories along the way! The 3rd stop was our favourite! Can’t wait for more!

My Mom still talks about this trip!

I bought the Quirky Gems trip to surprise my mom on Mother’s Day last year. She absolutely loved the surprise of not knowing where we were going and she loved all the stops along the way! She still talks about this trip and wants to take other family members on it. I loved being able to show my Mom different parts of Alberta that she hadn’t seen before!
