Itinerary

STOP 1

Brave a visit to an old haunted hotel where you can grab some road trip fuel. Then, venture over to one of Texas' most active paranormal sites. Drive time to the second stop is 25 minutes.

STOP 2

Take a self-guided spooky walking tour, including a stop at Texas' oldest bakery. Drive time to the third stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 3

Visit a former ghost town turned tourist hot spot, and then explore some haunted shops and lunch spots. Drive time to the fourth stop is 25 minutes.

STOP 4

Our final stop is definitely the highlight of this trip! Stop at a paranormal museum that is full of ghostly lore, grab a bite, and learn of a few more local legends.

From Austin, TX:
2 hours and 45 minutes / 119 miles

From San Antonio, TX:
2 hours and 37 minutes / 120 miles

From Fredericksburg, TX*:
4 hours and 15 minutes / 209 miles

*We recommend booking an overnight hotel if the driving distance is greater than 4 hours round-trip.

This trip can be done any day of the week, any time of the year. One cafe on stop #1 is closed on Sunday & Monday, but we provide an alternative.

We do not recommend traveling on holidays. Despite the haunted stories, this area is also quite festive during the holiday season!

We recommend departing between 9 - 9:30 am if you’re coming from Austin or San Antonio. The later you leave, the less time you’ll have to explore all of the stops.

This trip is pet-friendly! There will be at least one dog-friendly option on every stop. However, note that our shop and eatery suggestions only allow dogs on outdoor patios, so we recommend coordinating with the weather.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.
