Itinerary

STOP 1

Begin the day at a family-run market before heading out to a scenic covered bridge and a historic home that makes for a beautiful photo op. Drive time to the second stop is 20 minutes.

STOP 2

Cruise along peaceful backroads and take in the countryside views. We’ve highlighted four unique covered bridges, each with its own story and character. Drive time to the third stop is 7 minutes.

STOP 3

No good road trip is complete without tasty bites along the way. This charming small town is ideal for lunch, bakery stops, and a little browsing to get out of the cold. Drive time to the fourth stop is 15 minutes.

With so many interesting options, the choice is yours. Pick between a local shop inside a historic mill, a living history museum, or a few relaxed market-style stops to round out the day.

We do not recommend taking this trip on a Sunday.

We recommend leaving between 8:30 and 9:00 am. If you are coming from Baltimore we recommend leaving around 8:30. The later you leave, the less time you may have to complete all of the stops.

Unfortunately you will have to leave your furry friend at home for the day. There are a handful of places that don't welcome dogs so your options would be very limited if they came along.

We recommended bringing up to 5 people on your surprise road trip.

If you're bringing a larger group, we highly recommend having one person in charge of booking reservations at the restaurants and attractions in advance. In your confirmation email, you'll receive a copy of the itinerary.

First Stop: No fee

Second Stop: No fee

Third Stop: No fee

Fourth Stop: One featured stop is between $8-12 per person for a historic tour. There are other free options available.

After booking your trip, we'll send you a confirmation email with a few recommended accommodation options.
