Itinerary

STOP 1

Start your day off with a peaceful morning meander along a mile-long boardwalk. Drive time to the second stop is 20 minutes.

STOP 2

Venture into a whimsical estate garden that is straight out of a fairytale. Then grab a bite or hit up a few local boutiques. Drive time to the third stop is 20 minutes.

STOP 3

Pick your park on this stop! Whether you want some more florals, a lakeside stroll, or a haunted adventure - the choice is yours. Note that our featured option on stop #4 closes around 5pm, so please be aware of your timing! Drive time to the fourth stop is 12 minutes.

STOP 4

It's time to visit the quirkiest hotel "bar" with a unique tasting experience, and another haunted hot spot. This small town is a unique place to pick up some road trip souvenirs.

Please see the approximate driving distances below. Please note this just includes round-trip driving distances and not time spent at stops.

From Fort Worth, TX:
2 hours and 15 minutes / 106 miles

From Dallas, TX:
3 hours and 9 minutes / 169 miles

From Waco, TX*:
4 hours and 36 minutes / 272 miles

*We recommend booking an overnight hotel if the driving distance is greater than 4 hours round-trip.

This trip is best done Tuesday - Sunday, any time of year.

A few options on stop #2 are closed on Sunday. We do not recommend traveling on Mondays or holidays.

We recommend departing between 9 - 9:30 am if you’re coming from Dallas or Waco. Depart at 10 am if you’re coming from Fort Worth. The later you leave, the less time you’ll have to explore all of the stops.

Please note that our featured suggestion on stop #4 closes at 6pm from Monday-Saturday and at 5pm on Sundays. Plan your time accordingly, because you won't want to miss it!

This trip is somewhat pet friendly! On every stop there will be at least one option that allows dog; however, you will be limited to our outdoor options and eateries with patios. We recommend coordinating with the weather if you’re bringing your furry friend.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

First Stop: No fee

Second Stop: Our featured stop requires an entrance fee of $5 per person. We’ve provided a few free alternatives.

Third Stop: Two options require entrance fees ($5-10). We’ve provided one free alternative.

Fourth Stop: No fee
