PLEASE NOTE

  • This trip is best done in the fall to make the most of the haunted and autumn vibes. However, it can also be done in the spring or summer.
  • Many of the haunted stops are “look-from-the-outside” experiences and come alive through the stories we’ve included. Bring your imagination (and maybe a butter tart or two!) to make the most of the folklore along the way.

Itinerary

STOP 1

Grab a sweet treat, then head straight to a haunted heritage site with ghost stories galore. The drive time to the second stop is 11 minutes.

STOP 2

Choose between a beautifully eerie memorial, haunted photo ops, or festive fall fun at a nearby farm. The drive time to the third stop is 25 minutes.

STOP 3

Taste your way through cideries, wineries, farm markets, and another bakery serving up butter tart perfection. The drive time to the fourth stop is 23 minutes.

STOP 4

End your day with a haunted museum, a floating boardwalk hike, or keep road-tripping to two adorable nearby small towns.

*We recommend booking overnight accommodations if your round-trip driving time exceeds 4 hours.

This trip is best done from September - November to make the most of the haunted and autumn vibes. However, you can also travel in the spring or summer months.

Best done Thursday - Sunday. Two options on stop #3 are not available on Thursdays and one option on stop #4 is not available on Sundays, but we do provide alternatives.

We recommend departing around 9 am if you’re coming from the Oshawa area. Depart around 8:30 am if you’re coming from Toronto, Peterborough, or Barrie.

Note that some options on stop #4 close around 4pm, so please plan your day accordingly.

The later you leave, the less time you'll have to explore all of the stops!

While there are a handful of dog-friendly outdoor options on this road trip, we recommend leaving your furry friend at home for the day so you can make the most out of every recommendation.

We recommend bringing 2 - 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.
