WHAT TO EXPECT

A little sweet, a little scenic—this road trip blends cozy cafés, local wine, and maple treats with easy winter trails and hidden waterfalls. Perfect for a festive family road trip or romantic getaway!

This seasonal road trip can be done from mid-November to December 21st, 2025.

*This is the festive version of our year-round "Sweet & Scenic Route" road trip. The stops are similar, with a few seasonal additions!

  • Can be taken on Sunday; however, one farm market option on stop #1 is closed. Please bring extra road trip snacks if travelling on a Sunday.
  • Can’t travel until the new year? Many options on this trip are open year-round, but the festive offerings will no longer be available.

Itinerary

STOP 1

Start your day with a little seasonal sparkle! Grab a festive treat, visit a local craft market, and snap a photo of a unique piece of Canadiana. The drive time to the second stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 2

Seasonal sips, cozy bites, or a beautiful winter trail? The choice is yours! The drive time to the third stop is 12 minutes.

STOP 3

Enjoy a frosty trail to a beautiful waterfall, then head to a cozy farm market brimming with sweet, syrupy holiday cheer! The drive time to the fourth stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 4

Whether you’re up for one more waterfall or are craving a festive flight of sparkling wine, we’ve got you covered. End the day your way, and if you have time, head 20 minutes away to a cute small town that goes all out for the festive season!

This trip is best done on a Friday or Saturday from mid-November to Dec. 21st, 2025. We do not recommend travelling on holidays, or from Monday - Thursday.

Can be done on a Sunday, but you'll need to pack extra road trip snacks as our food option on stop #1 is closed.

Can’t travel until the new year? No problem! Many options on this trip are open year-round, but note that the festive offerings will no longer be available.

We recommend departing around 9:30 am, or slightly earlier if you’re coming from downtown Toronto. The later you leave, the less time you’ll have to explore all of the stops.

This trip is only somewhat dog-friendly. On each stop, there is an outdoor option that allows dogs.

However, most of our eatery and shop options only allow dogs on seasonal outdoor patios, so we recommend coordinating with the weather. In the wintertime, you will be limited to our outdoor options only if you bring your pup.

We recommend bringing 2 - 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.
