You Go

Itinerary

STOP 1

Before you fully venture onto the winding mountain roads, grab a hot coffee to prep for the day. Our featured stop is a memorable way to start things off! Drive time to your second stop is 30 minutes.

STOP 2

Take an easy lakeside wander while soaking in snow-capped mountain views. This trail is just 2.3 km and flat, making it a great option in cooler conditions. Drive time to your third stop is 22 minutes.

STOP 3

Occasionally overlooked but well worth the stop, this charming mountain town delivers big. We’ve recommended a scenic trail, a local brewery, and a few tasty spots for warming up with lunch. Drive time to your fourth stop is 24 minutes.

STOP 4

One of the most iconic road trip destinations in the world, and you get to experience it firsthand. Expect epic lookouts, frozen lakes, striking scenery, and a couple of breweries to round out the day. BONUS: Want to continue on toward Jasper? • From Okotoks: 4 hours and 23 minutes / 355 km

• From Airdrie: 3 hours and 46 minutes / 311 km

This trip can be done any day throughout the year. Some of the trails may be slippery through the winter months so please use caution.

We recommend leaving anytime between 8:30 - 9:00 am. The later you leave the less time you may have to complete all of the stops.

You can bring your furry friend, but it may limit you from going into some of the recommended stops. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

First Stop: Our featured stop has a relatively high admission cost per person, but it is totally worth it! ($22-$37 per person). We've got two alternative eatery suggestions to visit instead.

You will also need a valid National Parks Pass. This can be pre-purchased online or at the gate!
