This trip can be done in the winter; however, some seasonal options will be closed. We do not recommend travelling on a Monday or Tuesday.

We recommend leaving anytime between 10:00 am - 10:30 am from Ottawa. If you are coming from areas like Carleton Place or Kemptville, we recommend leaving between 9:30 and 10:00!

This trip is somewhat dog-friendly!

There is at least one dog-friendly option per stop, but it will limit you to lots of outdoor activities and trails.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

Second Stop: Two of our seasonal options require an entrance fee per person ($). We’ve provided two free year-round alternatives.

Third Stop: No fee

Fourth Stop: No fee

Fun for the whole family!

We really enjoyed the trip, even our 3 years old had a great time. We did however go too early in the season so some stops were not accessible or were closed. We’re keeping them on our wish list for this spring/summer 🤗

Mother's Day?

The trip was advertised as a Mother's Day Pick but as number of the choices weren't yet open for the season and the final hike was VERY wet (probably would be great later in the spring) it probably wasn't the best choice for Mother's Day. We were very happy with the adventure we ended up on, but would have preferred if more of the options were available. Love the idea though and will likely try another trip!

Thank you so much for this feedback! We typically recommend this trip in May, but we'll take another look at the options offered to see if it needs to start later in the season. Glad you had a great time!

Awesome Gift

I bought this trip as a gift for my sister and she absolutely loved it. She thought it was amazing, and couldn’t believe she didn’t know some of these spots around her even existed. This was an awesome way to spend the day.

After her description I knew I would be buying other trips from you guys.

Close to home unknown treasures

The first stop does need a bit clearer instruction of how to get down to the location. We even asked a few people who were out there and they were also unsure. Otherwise, we had a wonderful day exploring in our "backyard"
