Itinerary

STOP 1

Stretch your legs on a beautiful hidden gem trail and fuel up at one of our cafe suggestions! Drive time to the second stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 2

Go shopping in the cutest small town, visit a historic photo op, or sip wine in the countryside. Drive time to the third stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 3

Be blown away by a forest of giants with an interesting past! Not up for a stroll? Hit up a funky vintage railroad or garden to smell the roses. Drive time to the fourth stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 4

Colorful wonders await at the last stop of the day! Get your toes in the sand or pour yourself a drink at a local brewery.

Please see the approximate driving distances below. Please note this just includes round-trip driving distances and not time spent at stops.

From San Francisco: 3 hours and 23 minutes / 164 miles

From San Jose: 2 hours and 6 minutes / 84 miles

From Fremont: 2 hours and 30 minutes / 112 miles

From Oakland: 3 hours and 17 minutes / 158 miles

*We recommend booking an overnight hotel if the driving distance is greater than 4 hours round-trip.

This trip is best done between Wednesday - Sunday, anytime throughout the year. Note that one winery option on stop #2 is closed on Wednesdays.

We do not recommend traveling on Monday or Tuesday, or on holidays.

We recommend departing between 9 am and 9:30 am. The later you leave, the less time you’ll have to explore all of the stops.

Unfortunately this trip is not pup-friendly and they will need to stay at home for the day.

We recommended bringing up to 5 people on your surprise road trip.
