WHAT TO EXPECT

This outdoorsy road trip is full of spooky spots set along a picturesque driving route. You'll definitely want to read all of the haunted stories to make the most of the day! A few local eateries and trails are sprinkled throughout the day to keep your energy up while ghost hunting.

This trip is best done between April - October, from Wednesday - Sunday. We do not recommend travelling in the winter or early spring, or on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Itinerary

STOP 1

You’ll love exploring this beautiful yet eerie historic site. We've even included a few cute farm markets with baked goods for breakfast. Drive time to the second stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 2

Do you dare venture beneath a historic bridge with a tragic tale? Drive time to the third stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 3

Our featured stop is a haunted riverside mansion with tons of spooky stories and a creepy cemetery to explore. Drive time to the fourth stop is 5 minutes.

STOP 4

A creepy courthouse awaits with fantastic late-lunch suggestions and a picture-perfect photo op.

This trip is best done between April - October, from Wednesday - Saturday. You can do this trip on Sunday, but a few eateries will be closed.

We recommend leaving anytime between 8:30 and 9:30 am.The later you leave, the less time you may have to complete all of the stops.

Your furry friend can come along on this trip! There will be at least one dog-friendly option available on each stop.

We recommended bringing up to 5 people on your surprise road trip.

If you're bringing a larger group, we highly recommend having one person in charge of booking reservations at restaurants and attractions in advance. Please see the previous page for a copy of the digital itinerary.

First stop: No fee.

Second stop: No fee. Our featured stop requests donations if possible.

Fourth stop: Our featured stop requires an entrance fee ($). We’ve provided many free alternatives.

A few featured stops used to be "Want to Keep Going" suggestions in Spooky Sights & Ghostly Tales. If you never ventured down before, this is your chance to spend a full day in the area!

It was a great local trip for us. You may want to check the locations before planning a date as some are closed on weekends or have a small window that they are open.

We found this trip incredibly dry and boring. We've done others that we really liked. But this one missed the mark.

Our haunted trips are definitely different from our other road trips - they rely more on ghost stories written within the booklets, and less on the usual businesses and sites you'll find in our other road trips. We hope you still found a ghost story or two within the booklets to give you the chills!

I did not find this trip interesting or fun compared to others I've done.

We're sorry to hear this trip didn't live up to our others! Our haunted trips definitely have a different vibe to them - more abandoned stops with ghost stories than you'd see on our other trips. Happy to hear you've had fun on other road trips of ours :)

Fantastic day trip

We went on this as a girls day out right before Halloween, because what better time to go on a haunted tour. It’s nice that these hidden gems are so close to home but never knew they existed. Definitely recommend one of these and will be looking into different destinations in the near future.

Great girls day out

I decided to try this trip around Halloween because what better time to do a haunted tour. Definitely worth looking into if you’ve ever thought about it. It was amazing to see all these hidden gems within 1.5 hour radius from home. Don’t want to give anything away. Fantastic day and will definitely be doing this again.
