WHAT TO EXPECT

The perfect blend of charming small towns, farmers markets, and wine tastings mixed with epic waterfalls and a couple unique trails. Bayside Wonders is a bit farther, which makes for an incredible weekend getaway!

Please note: A couple recommendations have been moved from The Waterfall Route to this new trip. There are still tons of new spots to explore!

Itinerary

STOP 1

From quaint shops and eateries to a historic photo op, this quaint small town is the perfect place to start the day. Drive time to the second stop is 10 minutes.

STOP 2

It's time to head to a countryside farm market to grab some goodies, then picnic beachside or relax at a heartwarming park! Drive time to the third stop is 17 minutes.

STOP 3

Whether you’re interested in a beautiful view, a countryside winery, or a scenic trail, we've got you covered with fantastic recommendations. Drive time to the fourth stop is 20 minutes.

STOP 4

End your day wandering past a number of local waterfalls and filling your camera roll. If you’re hungry or are interested in a museum instead, head into one last charming town.

• From Toronto: 5 hours and 28 minutes / 419 km

• From Kitchener: 4 hours and 45 minutes / 349 km

• From Kincardine: 3 hours and 35 minutes / 268 km

• From Barrie: 3 hours and 45 minutes / 251 km

This trip is best done between Wednesday - Sunday any time of the year.

We recommend departing around 8:00 am if you’re coming from the GTA, or around 9:00 am if you're coming from Barrie. This trip is long for one day, but so worth it!

You can bring your pup on this trip!

At every stop there will be at least one pet-friendly option. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times, and note that our shop and eatery suggestions most often only allow pets on their patio. When in doubt, we recommend confirming pet regulations with certain locations.

We recommended bringing up to 5 people on your surprise road trip. If you're bringing a larger group, we highly recommend having one person in charge of booking reservations at the restaurants and attractions in advance. In your confirmation email, you'll receive a copy of the itinerary.

First Stop: No fee

Second Stop: One beach option has a parking fee ($) from May - Oct. We’ve provided other free options.

Third Stop: No fee

Fourth Stop: Two stops require small entrance fees ($). We’ve provided several free options.

Loved this experience.

So nice getting away without doing all the research. We didn’t make every stop so it gives us an excuse to go again. The only disappointment for us was the winery. Nice view, but not so great wine in our minds.
