This itinerary is best done any day of the week between June - mid-October. A few of our suggestions close down after mid-October.

You can use this itinerary in the wintertime on Saturdays or Sundays; however, our featured option on stop #3 will be closed. We provide a fabulous winter alternative which requires a fairly significant entry fee per person, as well as one other alternative.

We recommend leaving anytime between 8 am – 9 am.

Unforutnately this trip is not pup-friendly and you will need to leave them at home for the day.

We recommend bringing between 2- 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

First Stop: There is an entrance fee of $10 Adult / $5 Child

Second Stop: No fee

Third Stop: Our featured suggestion requires an entrance fee per adult (~$10). One optional winter stop has a significant entry fee (~$45 per person), but if you are up for it we highly recommend! We've provided one free alternative option.

Fourth Stop: No fee

Amazing Trip!

We went on this trip in early October and had a phenomenal day. Knowing French is an asset but not a necessity. All the merchants and people we encountered were absolutely wonderful. One merchant had no idea that their little shop was in the GW itinerary; they were so pleased when we showed them. The first and third stops are nature-oriented and were the right remedy for highly-stressed individuals. The shops and eateries on the other stops were a perfect complement.

Outstanding fun

The scenery along the way, the trails, the lookout vantage points, the quaint bistro where we enjoyed a delicious lunch made for a fabulous day trip. We really enjoyed ourselves. Kudos to "guess where" folks for amazing research and planning of "Backroad Bliss". Well done!

Loved It!

Important note: the address for the last stop was incorrect (it was a few lots down and across the street) and the itinerary said it closed at 8 when in reality it closed at 6. That said we were able to make it at 5:45 and had a great time. This trip has a great variety in the stops and excellent views throughout. The trails are well maintained and I will definitely be going back to explore the other trails!
