Itinerary

STOP 1

Enjoy a coffee, stroll the historic streets, and get your camera ready for fun photo ops in this charming town. Drive time to the second stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 2

Head to a charming downtown area for shopping and mural photo ops, or dig into an award-winning burger for an early lunch. Drive time to the third stop is 20 minutes.

STOP 3

It's time for a few easy trails, beaching or a little local winery. Drive time to the fourth stop is 20 - 45 minutes depending on the adventure you choose.

STOP 4

Where you choose to end the day is up to you! Visit a local winery or brewery, a waterfall, old rail trail or cute coffee shop.

From Charlotte:

2 hours and 15 minutes / 105 miles

From Albemarle:

3 hours and 30 minutes / 142 miles

From Winston-Salem:

3 hours and 5 minutes / 155 miles

Please Note: We recommend taking the HWY 285 route to your first stop.

From Greensboro:

3 hours and 40 minutes / 195 miles

This trips can be done year-round between Thursday and Saturday. You may go on a Sunday but there will be a few closures.

We recommend leaving anytime between 10:00 and 10:30 am. If you're not leaving from the Charlotte area, we recommend leaving between 9:00 and 9:30 instead.

Unfortunately, you will need to leave your furry friend at home for the day. There are a number of stops that do not allow dogs.

We recommended bringing up to 5 people on your surprise road trip.
