Start your day at one of the most unique landscapes in Canada and head out for a brief stroll. For the history buff in the car, we also included a seasonal museum as a bonus. Drive time to your second stop is 30 minutes.

STOP 2

Be wowed with expansive lookouts, stretch your legs and get your camera ready! Drive time to your third stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 3

Surely you have worked up an appetite by now. Pop into town and enjoy local roasters, un petit bistro, a funky brewery or a happening burger joint. We've also recommended a couple of our favourite up-and-coming shops. Drive time to your fourth stop is 25 minutes.

STOP 4

To end this surprise road trip adventure we're sending you to a few hidden (and maybe eerie) gems. If you want to keep going we have also included one last picturesque trail.

Drumheller area adventure trip

My wife and I spent 2 days on our rural adventure and we both quite enjoyed it.
We saw places that we had seen before but never stopped and explored. The prehistoric landscapes in this area are definitely unique! Thanks to my daughter for signing us up for this little adventure!

We're so glad you had a fantastic day out exploring this area! Thank you for your review!

Rural Roads

Very fun! As Albertans we were able to guess what most of the content would be in advance but we’re still awed by one of the stops! I wish we had more options for trips closer to Edmonton. We made a trip of it and stayed overnight in the major town that is close to all the stops. For a visitor to Alberta I think this would be extremely unique. One note I think should be added. There are quite a few hilly roads and roads that are not paved. If you drive a small car this can be difficult.

Fun but outdated

We had so much fun touring but a few things are out of date. The Pearl and Hart no longer exists. We were looking forward to it! Also the Homestead Coffee House is permanently shut down.
One thing we found that wasn't on the list was the Drum Distillery! Even better than the brewery mentioned and they carry the brewery's beer on tap. The best of both worlds!
Make sure you have lots of time! There is no way you are seeing these all in a day. Even without going to the Museum we took 2 days.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review! We did make note of both those closures in our Travel Updates back in October and March when the businesses shut down, always super important to check that page before heading out :) We'll definitely look into that distillery, thank you!

Fun Road Trip

We have been to Drumheller but not all of the other lesser known spots. It was great to see and explore the quirky towns and viewpoints that we wouldn't have known about. Looking forward to another trip.

Rural adventures is a must!

I absolutely loved this! I chose to do it in the winter for my birthday and had so much fun! I am definitely wanting to do it again in the summer to do a little more hiking!
