Nice Surprises

It was fun to find out some historical places right near home. We also went to a place that curb appeal would not have drawn us in if we didn't have it on our itinerary. We would have missed out!

My husband and I did this as a night getaway and had such a blast. We actually put our phones down, no work talk, no kid talk. We went on a date just the two of us and took the time to get to know each other all over again while experiencing stops along the way that we would never have thought to go to. We experienced an old Mill, a covered bridge from the 1800’s, beautiful water falls, mom n pop shops along the way and great food from the recommended restaurants. We ended in Boone where we stayed at one of the recommended hotels. Had such a blast and really reconnected as husband and wife of almost 30 years. We have since purchased the Antique adventure and the weekend in Asheville that I plan to do a girls weekend with my adult daughters. Well worth the money.

Unreal way to spend the day!

as a self-proclaimed history nerd I was so in love with the first two stops. It was such a relaxing way start the day before a more adventurous afternoon. They weren't kidding when they said they found the most unique roadside stop! Wish I lived closer to make it a regular part of my day.
