What to expect

Your package also includes a SportChek gift card, free skate sharpening at your local SportChek Service Shop, two Ripzone toques or mitts, and a $20 gift card to help cover your costs at the last stop. Stop 1

Start your day with an easy winter view point off the main highway.

Drive time to the second stop is: 20 minutes




Stop 2

Cozy up at one of our favourite cafes or bakeries in this cute town. We’ve also recommended a few other winter photo ops that pay tribute to Indigenous history close to the main street for you to explore.

Drive time to the third stop is: 7 minutes


Stop 3

Head over to a viewpoint in town that’s known for being North America’s largest gathering of bald eagles. Bald eagles start arriving as early as November and stay as late as March, with their population peaking during December and January.

Drive time to the fourth stop is: 40 minutes


Stop 4

Your last stop has a winter adventure available for everyone. Choose between snowshoeing to the base of a frozen waterfall, cross-country skiing, or tobogganing. Following your trek, grab a bite in the chalet with a gorgeous view of the mountain range.

BONUS: Sport Chek has covered admission fees for one adult at this stop ($20 value).

This trip can be taken anytime between December – March. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing might not be available during the month of December, weather depending. We’ve provided an alternative option during this time.

See the approximate total round-trip driving distances/times below. These are driving distances only and do not factor in time spent at stops.

• From Vancouver: 3 hours and 35 minutes / 241 km

• From Surrey: 4 hours and 18 minutes / 306 km

• From Abbotsford: 5 hours / 128 km


We recommend leaving between 8 am – 9 am.

Dogs can be taken along on this trip, but it may prevent you from going into some of the suggested cafes.

We recommend bringing up too five people.

The first three stops don’t have a fee. For the fourth stop, the activity you choose may vary from $11-18/person. We recommend bringing your own snowshoes or cross-country skis to save money on rental costs.

SportChek has also provided a $20 voucher to help cover fees at this stop.
