What to expect

Your package also includes a SportChek gift card, free skate sharpening at your local SportChek Service Shop, two Ripzone toques or mitts, and a bonus ski pass to a local hill. Itinerary

Stop 1

Start your day with a hot drink and something to eat at one of our favourite cafes.

Drive time to the second stop is: 10 minutes

 

 

Stop 2

Lace up those skates! Head over to a nearby frozen lake for a quick skate.

Drive time to the second stop is: 21 minutes

Stop 3

Your third stop is a ‘choose your own winter adventure.’ Here, we’ve recommended our favourite snowshoe and hiking trails within the area.

Drive time to the fourth stop is: 5-20 minutes

Stop 4

End your day in a famous Canadian town. Here we’ve recommended our favourite local restaurants, cafes and shops.

BONUS: SportChek has provided 1 Adult ski pass to Sunshine Village and can be used anytime during the 2022/2023 winter season. We hope this encourages you to hit the slopes this season.

This trip can be taken anytime between December – March.

See the approximate total round-trip driving distances/times below. These are driving distances only and do not factor in time spent at stops.

• From Okotoks: 4 hours and 11 minutes / 343 km

• From Cochrane: 2 hours and 53 minutes / 217 km

We recommend leaving between 8 am – 9 am.

Unfortunately, this trip is not pup-friendly.

We recommend bringing up to five people on your surprise road trip.

The first, second, and fourth stops don’t have a fee. For the third stop, the activity you choose may range from FREE – $30/person. We recommend bringing your own snowshoes or cross-country skis and ice skates to save money on rental costs.

If you plan on skiing, we’ve included 1 ski pass to a local ski hill. Any additional ski passes or rental equipment are additional costs.
