Itinerary

STOP 1

Grab a coffee at one of our favourite cafes, and head out for a quick walk around the marina. Drive time to the second stop is 5 minutes.

STOP 2

We’ve rounded up a few options for this stop. Whether it’s a bit of shopping, eating or relaxing...the choice is yours! Drive time to the third stop is 15 minutes

STOP 3

Most travellers to Bowen Island don't make it to this spot. It's time to explore the great outdoors! Drive time to the fourth stop is 15 minutes.

STOP 4

End your day at a lovely little beach that only locals really know about. Before heading home we've recommended a few spots for you to enjoy dinner!

Please see the approximate driving distances below. Please note this just includes round-trip driving distances and not time spent at stops.

From North Vancouver: 50 minutes / 29 km + 20 minute ferry crossing

From Richmond: 1 hour and 20 minutes / 47 km + 20 minute ferry crossing

From Burnaby: 47 minutes / 52 km + 20 minute ferry crossing

From Langley: 1 hour and 20 minutes / 86 km + 20 minute ferry crossing

This itinerary can be used Wednesday - Sunday and is best done from May - October. Please note: some closures may occur on holidays

We recommend getting to Bowen Island for around 10 am. Please plan your ferry times accordingly and make sure you arrive a little early for your departure. Nobody likes having to wait for the next one!

Your furry friend could come along on this trip but you’ll be restricted at some of the optional restaurants and shops.  If you want to have tons of choice throughout the day, we recommend leaving your pup at home.

We recommend bringing between 2 - 5 people on your surprise road trip adventure.

None of the stops require an entrance/parking fee. You will be responsible for purchasing your own ferry ticket to Bowen Island from Horseshoe Bay to Snug Cove.

Great weekend trip to Bowen Island

My partner and I had so much fun on this trip. We made a weekend trip out of it since we had never been to Bowen Island before. I wish we would have left a little earlier for the ferry though so we could have picked up some treats at the first stop. The baked goods looked soooo good but we were running late for our ferry so we didn't have time to wait in line. Luckily there was another cafe recommendation when we got to the island. The third stop was so unique and fun!!

A perfect trip to Bowen!

If you've never explored Bowen before, this is the best way to do it! We already want to go back. I wouldn't recommend going in the winter time as quite a few restaurants will be closed.
