As an Ottawa resident, some of the winter options were things we had discovered on our own and done before. However, they are still fun activities!
The first stop was fun and had a fantastic view, but keep in mind that it can be quite difficult in the winter.
We also experienced two small bumps - one stop designated for a quick drink did not serve alcohol as mentioned, and the winter alternative for the third stop is a multi-hour activity, so we were unable to do it by the time we arrived.
Overall, we had a fun day, but I would hold off on this trip until the weather is warmer.
Started really strong with Merrickville. The second hike was okay. We made out own little detour for the third stop and the coffee shop in kemptville for the final stop was unfortunately closed. We still made do by going to a different coffee shop in kemptville. Great experience, we both had a great time.
I have been to most of the places but still had fun
This was definitely a full day trying to fit it all in, but at the same time, it was stress free and enjoyable - no rush! We really enjoyed exploring some local(ish) trails and sites that we had never heard of before, and really, we could have spent longer at each site if it weren't for trying to stick to the alotted times (definitely start early)! And I must say, the lunch recommendation alone was worth the trip! Amazing food and will definitely return to this restaurant. The parking/entrance fees added up, but it was worth it I think. Thank you for the memories!
Side note: For someone with bad knees, the first hike would be considered difficult, and the day as a whole was quite a lot of walking. Consider following some of the suggested alternatives - no need to choose a completely different trip!
Fun trip with a toddler in tow. We didn't get to enjoy the last stop as it was a Sunday evening and the shops were closed. That being said, we could have started the day a little earlier, and the first stop took us a while with a toddler so would have been possible to do in one day but make sure you start early!
